Fear of Dogs Eliminated

Updated: Mar 29, 2019

In 2012, a 28-year-old female arrived at the Advanced Hypnotherapy clinic with her fiancé. Ever since she could remember she had a terrifying fear of dogs. In fact if she even thought there were dog hairs in a house she would not enter the premises. This was particularly distressing for her parents who lived in Melbourne. Whenever their daughter was visiting, their dog had to go to the neighbour’s house next door for the duration of the visit. They had to thoroughly clean their house.

Her fiancé wanted to have his own dog but of course that was impossible.

The client wanted to eliminate this dreadful fear of dogs not only for her own sake but for that of her fiancé as well. By using a simple hypnosis regression technique to discover the initial cause of her fear she was able to resolve the behaviour.

After the end of the second session a week later the client was able to pat dogs to the amazement of her fiancé. A year later she emailed me at my clinic with a photograph of their rescue pound dog they had adopted. See photo. (Note: Client identity is confidential)

Anxiety can be a debilitating and on-going problem. Anxiety Hypnotherapy can be an ideal therapy to help eliminate this condition.

This case study was published in the Australian Journal of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis in the Spring edition 2012.
