Drinking too much?

It’s so easy to come home after a busy day at work, open a bottle of wine and have a glass. You feel relaxed while you prepare the children’s meal or think about what’s for dinner. That bottle of wine looks tempting and so you pour another glass. It’s nice to have a glass or two during dinner or relaxing talking to your partner. Another glass while watching TV and you go to put away the bottle of wine but discover it’s empty. The same pattern happens again the following night and then the weekend comes and a few more bottles are consumed. After a period of time this practice becomes part of your behavior.

Apart from the sugar content with the calories mounting up, the alcohol is something that your liver has to process. There is a silent battle going on within your body. According to Healthline “The liver is an organ which helps break down and remove harmful substances from your body, including alcohol. Long-term alcohol use interferes with this process.” You find it very difficult to get out of this pattern of drinking because it’s been going on for so long. The long term damage can affect just about every part of your body and what just started as a way to relax can in the long term become a way to die.

There’s really nothing wrong with having a glass of wine providing that’s all it is and not a continual behavior of excessive use. Changing behavior is very difficult particularly when a part of you is saying I need to have a drink to relax. How can you still enjoy a glass of wine or other alcoholic drink without going too far? Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective methods to do this. It’s one of the few processes where you can get into the subconscious mind and rapidly change behavior. Over the years I have dealt with many people where the drinking behavior has become out of control. It can happen to just about anybody. Usually within three sessions of hypnosis the excessive drinking behavior can be eliminated.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool and when administered by a professional clinical hypnotherapist such as myself the results are usually outstanding. During the first session we discuss exactly what you want to achieve. It may be just a glass of wine occasionally or with none during the week. Whatever you decide it has to be what you truly want to achieve. Once this is established then the process is easy. Hypnotherapy is just a wonderful way to relax in a daydream state. Your subconscious mind is very accepting and willing to change behavior.
